SLOWPOKE Nuclear Research Reactor

Dalhousie's SLOWPOKE Nuclear Research Reactor, directed by Professor Amares Chatt, is designed specifically for neutron activation analysis. The core runs at a low enough temperature so that all types of samples, including sensitive biological samples, can be activated for analysis. SLOWPOKE — Safe Low Power Critical Experiment — is regularly used by graduate students for their thesis research.
