Research Interests: Organic Chemistry.

Our research aims to probe some novel chemistry of pyrrolic compounds. The synthesis and application of homochiral dipyrromethene complexes are being investigated, with the initial goal being to develop novel catalysts for asymmetric sythesis. A complementary project involves the development of new methodology for the synthesis of important pyrroles. Students in my group will use many forms of analysis for characterization of compounds, including NMR, UV-vis, CD and fluorescence spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography and mass spectrometry.
