Research Interests: Analytical Chemistry; Chemical Education The research interests of Dr. Ramaley include the use of mass spectrometry to investigate complex materials and the application of optical, vacuum, and electronic techniques to the design of improved chemical instrumentation. Electrospray mass spectrometr y coupled with high performance liquid chromatography is being applied to the analysis of polycyclic aromatic compounds in various samples. Array fluorescence detectors and simple instruments for use in the undergraduate laboratory are being developed.
