In the winter of 2008, the Department of Chemistry engaged in a strategic planning exercise designed to bring focus to the Department's activities as we plan for the future. The process was extremely successful in energizing our personnel and imbuing all with a sense of optimism as we enter a period characterized by growth and renewal.
The final strategic plan was endorsed by the Department in a meeting held on May 20th, 2008. The plan contains aspirational and concrete goals too numerous to be described here. What follows is an executive summary of its most important features.
